33-Year-Old Kannada Comedian Rakesh Poojary Dies at Friend’s Mehendi Ceremony
Rakesh Poojary, a popular Kannada comedian, passed away at the age of 33 after suffering a heart attack while attending a friend’s mehendi ceremony in Karkala, Karnataka.
The tragic incident happened in the early hours of May 11, 2025. Rakesh, who was known for his role in the Kannada reality show Comedy Khiladigalu, suddenly collapsed at the event. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead as doctors were unable to save him.
Rakesh became famous after appearing in Comedy Khiladigalu Season 3 in 2020, where his unique style and performances made him a household name. He had also participated in Season 2, finishing as the second runner-up.
Before becoming a well-known comedian, Rakesh began his career in the performing arts with the Chaitanya Kalavidaru theater group, which helped him develop his comedy skills. He also gained popularity from his appearances on the Tulu reality show Kadali Baje.
Rakesh faced many struggles in his career, including attending over 150 auditions before finding success. His sudden death has left a deep impact on his fans and the entertainment industry.
