Actor Samuel French, best known for his role in Killers of the Flower Moon, has passed away at the age of 45. He died on Tuesday morning in Waco, Texas, after battling cancer for several years.
Early Life
Samuel French was born on January 26, 1980. When he was three years old, his family moved to Clifton, Texas, where he grew up. Later, he moved to Austin and then Dallas to chase his dream of becoming an actor.
Acting Career
Samuel started his career with roles in TV series like Texas Rising and Fear the Walking Dead, where he played a character named Ben.
He got his big break when he acted alongside Robert De Niro in Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese. In that film, he played CJ Robinson, an undercover FBI agent—a role that many fans and critics remember him for.

His Final Role

Sinacore described Samuel as a powerful and passionate actor. He said French gave everything he had to the role, calling his performance “raw, intense, and deeply committed.” The director also shared how sad he was that Samuel won’t get to see the finished film.
“Samuel was a dear friend and an incredible actor,” Sinacore wrote on Instagram.
“Towpath wouldn’t exist without his intensity and dedication. I only wish he could’ve seen the final cut. He’ll always be in our hearts.”

Outside of his acting career, Samuel was known as a loving and devoted father, especially to his daughter, whom he spoke about often and with great pride.
