‘What if they sell me in Mumbai?’: Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 Child Actor Siddharth Nigam Shares Why He Was Scared to Debut in a YRF Film
Siddharth Nigam, who played the younger version of Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3, recently opened up about how scared he was when he first got a call to audition for the film. At the time, he didn’t know anything about Yash Raj Films (YRF) and even thought the offer might be fake!
‘We were scared… What if they call us to Mumbai and sell us?’
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Siddharth shared that he was unsure about the opportunity because he and his family had no idea who Shanoo Sharma was or what Yash Raj Films meant in Bollywood. They were also nervous because they didn’t know anyone in Mumbai.
Siddharth admitted that he used to watch shows like Crime Patrol and Savdhaan India, so when he got the call, he feared it could be a scam. He even joked, “What if they call us to Mumbai and sell us?”
It was only after his brother searched about YRF and Shanoo Sharma online that they realized how big of a chance this was. After that, things changed quickly.
Grateful for His Journey
Siddharth said he feels lucky for the love and support he received from the industry, especially from YRF. He added that he would always be thankful for the way they welcomed him into Bollywood.
Siddharth Nigam in Hai Junoon
Now in 2025, Siddharth is playing a lead role in the TV show Hai Junoon. The story is about a dance group competing with a top singing group in college. Siddharth plays Vikram, a talented singer who struggles with self-doubt and dreams of proving himself. His character is mentored by one played by Neil Nitin Mukesh.
Siddharth said he feels connected to Vikram’s story because he also started as an outsider in the industry and is still learning and finding his place.
Remembering His Roots
He also talked about his childhood in Prayagraj. Back then, he was just a gymnast, and his mother ran a small beauty parlour. He said that although he didn’t face extreme struggles, he still had to figure out his way step by step. Working on Hai Junoon reminded him of where he came from and how far he’s come.
