Aditya Chopra’s Birthday: When Rani Mukerji Joked That Her Husband ‘Curses’ Her Every Day — And the Reason Is Hilarious
On filmmaker Aditya Chopra’s birthday today, let’s revisit a funny moment shared by his wife, actress Rani Mukerji.
Rani and Aditya got married in 2014 and have been one of Bollywood’s most loved but low-key couples. Aditya is known for staying away from the spotlight — he avoids the paparazzi and rarely appears in public. But Rani once revealed something hilarious about their marriage.
In an old interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rani was asked whether Aditya had finally become okay with being photographed. Laughing, she said she takes his pictures on her phone every day — but he still doesn’t enjoy being in the public eye.
Rani explained that Aditya prefers to stay anonymous because, as a filmmaker, he wants to stay connected to the audience without being recognized everywhere he goes. That’s why he dislikes seeing his photos out in public.
She jokingly added,
“That’s why he curses me every day — ever since we got married, his pictures have been everywhere, and he hates that!”
Rani has often spoken about how supportive Aditya is in her life. In a 2023 interview with Pinkvilla, she shared that after their daughter was born, Aditya encouraged her to return to work.
She said,
“I was so focused on being a mom that he reminded me, ‘You are Rani Mukerji — your fans are waiting. You need to go back to work.’ He really pushed me to get back in front of the camera.”
