Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning – Is It Really the End?

Is Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning the Last Movie in the Series? Cast Members Hint at a Possible Return

Tom Cruise is back once again as Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning. While many fans think this could be the final movie in the Mission Impossible series, some of the cast members aren’t so sure—it might not be the end just yet.

At the Cannes Film Festival, Tom Cruise, who also starred in Jerry Maguire, avoided directly answering whether this would be the last film in the franchise. In an interview with People magazine, other stars from the movie shared their thoughts.

Angela Bassett, who plays CIA director Erika Sloane, said, “With Mr. Cruise, you can never count him out. He’s always ready for a big adventure and knows exactly what the audience wants.”

Simon Pegg, who plays field agent Benji Dunn, agreed. He said, “Never say never.” He added, “I don’t think Tom likes the idea of something being final. Even if nothing comes after this, you leave the theater thinking, ‘Maybe there’s more.’ That’s the magic—giving fans hope, not sadness.”

Hayley Atwell also spoke about the movie. She said the film offers a “satisfying end” to the story but pointed out that Tom Cruise never slows down. “This is who he is,” she said.

When Cruise was asked if he would play Ethan Hunt again, he kept things mysterious. He replied, “Just let us show the movie tonight. This is 30 years in the making, and I’d rather let people watch and enjoy it.”

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning is now playing in theaters near you.
