Sydney Sweeney Talks About Cassie’s Wild Journey in Euphoria Season 3: “She’s Crazy…”
Sydney Sweeney is back as Cassie in the upcoming season of Euphoria, and she says things are about to get even more intense. The actress, known for her role in Anyone But You, shared that Season 3 of the hit HBO series is going to be completely “unhinged.”
In a recent chat with Empire Magazine, Sweeney opened up about what fans can expect. She said that Cassie has never been happier—but at the same time, she’s also never been more out of control.
“I have such a soft spot for Cassie,” Sweeney said. “She’s really close to my heart. She’s crazy, she makes a lot of mistakes, and she’s super flawed—but everything she does comes from a place of love. Sometimes, it’s a really sad kind of love.”
She also talked about how fun it is to play such a complicated character. “Working with Sam Levinson (the creator of the show) is amazing,” she said. “I’ll read something and call him saying, ‘Let’s make it even crazier.’ And he’s always on board. This season is totally unhinged.”
Filming for Season 3 officially started in January 2025, and the entire main cast—including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and others—will return for the new episodes.
Season 2 of Euphoria took a darker turn, especially with Cassie’s secret relationship with Nate, who had been abusive to her friend Maddy.
Outside of Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney has also finished filming an upcoming biopic about boxer Christy Martin, though the title hasn’t been announced yet.
Fans can expect the new season of Euphoria to release by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
