Hera Pheri 3: After Paresh Rawal’s Tweet, His Lawyers Reveal Why He Really Left the Film with Akshay Kumar
Fans were shocked when news broke that Paresh Rawal would no longer be part of the much-awaited comedy Hera Pheri 3. Soon after, it was reported that Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films, sent a legal notice to Rawal demanding ₹25 crore in damages. Now, Rawal’s legal team has stepped forward to explain the real reason behind his exit.
On May 25, 2025, Paresh Rawal posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.” Shortly after that, his legal team released an official statement.
In a statement to IANS, Rawal’s team said that the producers failed to deliver a proper story, script, and contract, which were essential for Rawal to be fully involved in the project. “Since none of these things were provided and because Mr. Nadiadwala—the producer of the original Hera Pheri films—also raised objections about the making of this movie, our client decided to step away. He returned the money he had received, along with interest,” the lawyers explained.
When the production house accused Paresh Rawal of being “unprofessional” and claimed they suffered major financial losses due to his exit, Rawal refunded his signing fee of ₹11 lakh with an additional 15% interest.
Responding to the loss claims, Rawal’s lawyers said that the production house accepted the money first but then sent an unfair legal notice to Rawal—even though the project wasn’t fully ready. “There was no completed story, and even the title of the film was in question. So how could there be any actual loss?” they said. “We hope they now accept the reality and stop blaming our client.”
Akshay Kumar was not only set to star in Hera Pheri 3 alongside Suniel Shetty but was also producing the film. Now, with Paresh Rawal out, the future of the film seems uncertain.
