Meet the Actor Who Shaved His Head After a Career Setback, Was ‘Blacklisted’ for Refusing a Ranbir Kapoor Film, but Later Worked with Alia Bhatt
Today, we’re talking about the inspiring journey of Siddhant Chaturvedi, an actor who faced big struggles early in his career but went on to work with Bollywood stars like Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh.
Siddhant’s Tough Start
Siddhant, who was born in Uttar Pradesh, began his acting journey with the web series Inside Edge on Amazon Prime Video. But before his big break in Gully Boy, Siddhant had already been through a lot.
He had landed a role in a film and trained for six months, but the movie got cancelled. In an old interview with Mashable India, Siddhant said this was a big emotional blow. “Whenever I looked in the mirror, I saw only that character. So I shaved my head. It really shook me,” he said. He was just 21–22 years old at the time.
Turning Down a Big Film
Even after his powerful performance in Gully Boy (2019), Siddhant didn’t have it easy. In an interview with The Lallantop, he shared how he once turned down a role in Brahmastra Part 1.
He said he was excited about the movie but wanted to read the script first. Director Ayan Mukerji didn’t have a complete script back then. Siddhant also felt that in a movie with big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt, no one would even notice his role.
Being Blacklisted
Unfortunately, his decision didn’t go down well with people in the industry. Siddhant recalled, “I got a bad name in the casting world. People said, ‘He gets selected and then says no. Who does he think he is?’” This led to him being blacklisted for a while.
Bouncing Back
Despite all the hurdles, Siddhant didn’t give up. He came back stronger and acted in several films, including:

- Phone Bhoot
- Yudhra
What’s Next?
Siddhant Chaturvedi is now all set to appear in Dhadak 2 opposite Triptii Dimri. The movie is directed by Shazia Iqbal and is scheduled to release on August 2, 2025.
