Mukesh Khanna, famous for his roles in Shaktimaan and Mahabharat, is loved by Indian audiences as the country’s first TV superhero. Though he’s no longer on television, he stays connected with his fans through his YouTube channel, social media, and interviews. Mukesh Khanna often makes headlines for his honest and strong opinions on current films, TV shows, and other topics. For example, he once criticized The Kapil Sharma Show, calling it “vulgar.” When the cast of Mahabharat appeared on the show, Khanna chose not to join them, describing the show as “ashleel” (obscene). He clarified on social media that he was invited to the Mahabharat reunion episode on The Kapil Sharma Show, but he declined the invitation.
Recently, a video of Mukesh Khanna has been circulating online where he talks about his first encounter with comedian and host Kapil Sharma. In an interview, Khanna recalled meeting Kapil at an award function. At the event, Mukesh Khanna received an award for his work on Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha, while Kapil Sharma was also being honored as his show had just started. Khanna shared that Kapil hurriedly took a seat next to him in the front row but didn’t greet him or exchange any words.
Mukesh Khanna shared his disappointment with Kapil Sharma’s behavior, calling it “asabhya” (uncivilized) because Kapil didn’t make an effort to talk or check on him. The Shaktimaan actor pointed out that, while he may not have known Kapil personally, the comedian definitely knew who he was. Although Khanna criticized Kapil’s behavior, he mentioned that he doesn’t feel hurt by it, but he does find it impolite.
This incident, along with Khanna’s previous comments about The Kapil Sharma Show, reflects the veteran actor’s strong beliefs about maintaining certain values in entertainment. He isn’t afraid to speak out when he feels those values are being compromised.
