Yesterday, on September 8, 2024, the nation was saddened by the news of popular actor Vikas Sethi’s passing. Known for his good looks and fit physique, Vikas died after suffering a cardiac arrest. Pinkvilla spoke with actress Ritu Chaudhary, who had worked with Vikas on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and other shows, to hear her thoughts on her friend’s sudden death.
Ritu shared how she first heard the news, saying, “One of my show’s producers, Rupali Guha, messaged me, and she was in shock. I was shocked too. I knew he hadn’t been well, but I never expected something like this to happen.”
Reflecting on her memories of Vikas, Ritu said, “I remember him as someone full of life, bubbly, and determined. He was fun to be around, and very easygoing. We grew close when we did a Zee TV show called Dil Na Jaane Kyun. A group of us actors would travel to the US for shows, sometimes for 40 days, and we had a great time together. Vikas was like an older brother to me—he was very protective.”
When asked if she stayed in touch with him, Ritu explained, “We had a great bond, but over time, life happens, and you get busy. Still, we made sure to stay in contact, even if it was just a message or call once a month or meeting up at each other’s places. We stayed connected.”
She also reflected on the uncertainty of life, saying, “Life is so unpredictable. If you’re breathing today, it’s something to be grateful for, and if you wake up tomorrow still breathing, that’s even more to be thankful for.”
In her final message to Vikas, Ritu shared, “Sethi, I hope you’re in a happy and peaceful place now. Until we meet again.”
