In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Bhavya Gandhi, known for his role as Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, opened up about his long-awaited return to television. After leaving the popular show in 2017, fans were eager to see him back, and now he’s made his comeback with the show Pushpa Impossible, where he plays a psychotic villain.
Bhavya on His Break from TV
Talking about why it took him so long to return, Bhavya said, “I was never really gone (laughs). I was just waiting for a role that would challenge me. After leaving Taarak Mehta, many offers I got were similar to my character Tapu, and I didn’t want to repeat that. I wanted something new.”
Now, with Pushpa Impossible, Bhavya is playing a character named Prabhaas, who is complex and troubled. He’s excited about this challenging role and doesn’t mind if people take time to accept him in such a different avatar.
His Excitement for the New Role
When asked how he feels about his comeback, Bhavya said, “I’m very excited! This role is a real challenge for me, and that’s what I wanted. Even if people don’t immediately accept me in this new character, I’m okay with that because it’s a step out of my comfort zone.”
What Bhavya Has Been Up To
Since leaving Taarak Mehta, Bhavya has been busy in the Gujarati film industry. He’s got a couple of movies lined up, including Ajab Raat Ni Gajab Vaat and Om Sweet Om. He has also joined the cast of the film Kesari Veer, which features big names like Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Sooraj Pancholi.
Bhavya’s fans are excited to see him explore new characters and take on fresh challenges as he returns to television with a bang.
