Amitabh Bachchan’s Hilarious Take on Phuchka vs Pani Puri Debate on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 Leaves Everyone Speechless
Amitabh Bachchan recently joined in on a fun debate between singers Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16. The playful argument wasn’t about the quiz show but about something equally important—whether Phuchka or Pani Puri is better. For those who don’t know, Pani Puri is called Phuchka in Bengal.
In a promo released by the show’s makers, Sonu Nigam says, “Pani puri is my happy food!” Shreya Ghoshal, sitting next to him, adds, “Pani puri is my weakness, but there’s something even better than that—Phuchka.” Confused, Sonu responds, “Phuchka? I like Pani Puri more.”
At this point, Amitabh Bachchan jumps in to clarify, saying, “It’s the same thing! In one place, they call it Phuchka, and in another, it’s Pani Puri.” But Sonu disagrees, saying, “No, no, there is a difference. Phuchka and Pani Puri taste different. And Golgappa tastes different too, sir!”
Shreya firmly declares, “Phuchka wins,” but Big B humorously adds, “No, no, it’s not like that. The name Phuchka might have come from the sound it makes when you break the puri—‘pach’.”
The lighthearted banter left everyone smiling, showing how even simple food debates can become a highlight of a fun-filled episode.
