EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Jiya Shankar Shares How Ved Actors Genelia D’Souza and Riteish Deshmukh Supported Her During a Tough Time
In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Jiya Shankar from Bigg Boss OTT 2 shared that her Ved co-actors, Genelia D’Souza and Riteish Deshmukh, reached out to her when she was going through a difficult time.
Jiya Shankar was a guest on Pinkvilla’s show “Behind the Scenes.” During the interview, she opened up about many topics like love, relationships, childhood struggles, and more. She shared that when her mother was recently hospitalized, Genelia and Riteish checked on her.
Jiya said, “They are truly kind people. When my mother was in the hospital, I posted a tweet about it. I believe that if medicine doesn’t work, prayers will. So, I asked my fans and well-wishers to pray for my mom since they care about me and also know her.”
She continued, “I was really upset during that time. My tweet went viral, and many people messaged me, praying for my mom.”
Jiya then shared that Genelia contacted her after seeing the tweet. “Genelia called me, and she’s such a sweet person. I also spoke to Riteish sir. They asked if I needed any help. They are both really kind. It’s a blessing to know such wonderful people.”
Jiya also mentioned that her mother has now recovered.
When talking about her career, Jiya said that the movie “Ved” brought positive changes, and more people in the industry started to recognize her. She feels proud that more people know her after the film.
Jiya also spoke about working on the Marathi movie, saying it felt like ‘home.’ Since the movie was dubbed in Hindi, many non-Marathi viewers also enjoyed it.
The “Pishachini” actress revealed she’s working on a Tamil movie next. Though she didn’t share many details, she mentioned she’s very excited about the project.
Jiya said, “Working on this Tamil movie was the best experience I’ve ever had in my career. The director, production team, and everyone were amazing. I had a great time working with such talented people.”
She added, “Usually, there’s at least one person you might not get along with on set, but everyone on this project was wonderful. I truly love being on set and doing what I do. I love connecting with people and their positive energy.”
Jiya Shankar’s Tamil movie is expected to be released in 2024.
