The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken strict action against Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav and Punjabi singer Fazilpuria (real name Rahul Yadav) in a money laundering case. Their properties in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have reportedly been seized by the ED after thorough investigations.
According to a report from ETimes, both Elvish Yadav and Fazilpuria were earlier questioned by the ED, and their statements were recorded. Elvish had previously been detained by Noida police over alleged involvement in illegal snake poison trading.
For those who might not know, after the ED arrested Elvish Yadav, he was charged under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He also faced charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Wildlife Protection Act, and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). However, according to a report from India Today, Yadav has denied all the charges, calling them baseless. The police later admitted that the NDPS charges were filed by mistake and withdrew them. Yadav was also summoned by the ED in connection with a rave party event.
Recent reports say that Yadav was once again questioned by senior ED officers at their Lucknow headquarters. The questioning lasted for about 8 hours, and a video showing him leaving the ED office went viral. In July 2024, the popular YouTuber was called in by the ED because of his alleged involvement in the money laundering case.
During the questioning, Yadav was asked about his contacts, homes, bank accounts, and other assets. There are also rumors that while he was being questioned, officers checked his phone for photos, chat conversations, and videos. Charges have been filed against Yadav under the PMLA for allegedly generating criminal proceeds and using illegal money to organize rave or recreational events.
