Anupamaa: Chandni Bhagwanani, who replaced Muskan Bamne as Pakhi, quits the show; Says, ‘I didn’t want to…’
Chandni Bhagwanani, who played the role of Pakhi in Anupamaa, has decided to leave the show. The popular TV serial is about to take a 15-year leap, and many actors have already announced their exits. Now, Chandni has confirmed that she too will be leaving. Here’s why she made that decision.
In an interview with Times Now/Telly Talk, Chandni explained that it was time for her to move on. After the leap, her character would be a mother to a 22-year-old, and she feels she looks too young for that role. She said, “The makers didn’t force me to continue. They understood that I wouldn’t look convincing as the mother of a 22-year-old. I’ve always been told I look very young, so this was the natural choice.”
On September 9, Chandni posted a clip from the show on her Instagram, where her character, Pakhi, is seen with a young girl. In the caption, she wrote, “Signing off as Pakhi.”
For those unfamiliar, Chandni replaced Muskan Bamne as Pakhi. Muskan played the role for several years before leaving the show in 2023 to join Bigg Boss 18. Other actors, like Nidhi Shah, who played Kinjal, have also announced their departures, with Nidhi sharing a heartfelt goodbye on social media.
As the show takes this leap, new characters like Alisha Parveen as Aadhya and Shivam Khajuria as her love interest are joining the cast. Despite many exits, Anupamaa lead Rupali Ganguly will continue in her role, and there are reports that Gaurav Khanna will stay on as well.
