Nishi Saxena, who played Dimpy in Anupamaa, has officially announced her exit from the show after two years. As the show prepares for a 15-year generational leap, many actors have already left, including Aurra Bhatnagar, Chandni Bhagwanani, and Nidhi Shah. Now, Nishi has also bid farewell. She shared a heartfelt video of her favorite moments from the show and thanked the fans and team for their support.
In an emotional note, Nishi reflected on her journey, calling it life-changing. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, writing, “After two incredible years, it’s time to say goodbye to Dimpy. This journey has taught me so much, both as an actor and as a person.” She mentioned that playing Dimpy was her first big break, and she feels deeply thankful to producer Rajan Shahi and the channel for giving her this chance. Working on Anupamaa, according to Nishi, felt like a dream come true and something she had always wished for.
She also thanked the cast and crew, saying, “A huge thank you to Rajan Shahi and my co-actors for treating me like family, and to the fans for all their love… Dimpy will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m excited for new adventures, but this experience will always be unforgettable.”
Several of her co-stars reacted to her emotional post. Former Anupamaa actor Aashish Mehrotra wrote, “Dimpy, you did your best and were so natural and fun.” Sagar Parekh called her “the best,” while Nidhi Shah, who played Kinjal, commented, “Dimpy, the cutest, the best, forever in our hearts.” Alpana Buch and Gaurav Sharma also shared their support.
As Anupamaa gears up for its new chapter, new characters will be introduced, including Alisha Parveen as Aadhya and Shivam Khajuria as her love interest. While many original cast members have left, Rupali Ganguly will continue in the lead role, and reports suggest Gaurav Khanna will also remain.
