Report: Munawar Faruqui Receives Threats from Lawrence Bishnoi Gang; Security Tightened for Bigg Boss 17 Winner
Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui is in the news after reports surfaced that he has received threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
According to recent reports, the gang tried to target Munawar in New Delhi last month. Now, it’s believed that the Bishnoi gang has put him on their hit list, which has raised serious concerns about his safety.
Because of these threats, the Mumbai Police have increased security for Munawar. A senior officer confirmed that he is under protection. While it’s not officially confirmed that the threats are from the Bishnoi gang, there is a possibility they are involved.
Back in September, Munawar was in Delhi for an event but had to return to Mumbai when the Delhi Police Special Cell warned of a possible attack. Some reports claim that gang members booked a room in the same hotel where Munawar was staying.
After the Mumbai Police were informed of the plan, his security was immediately increased. The Times of India reports that this information came up during an investigation into the murder of Delhi businessman Nadir Shah.
One of the arrested shooters revealed that the gang had been watching the hotel where Munawar was staying, planning to attack him. Munawar had been in Delhi to attend an event and meet social media personality Elvish Yadav.
As of now, security around Munawar has been tightened, and authorities are taking precautions to ensure his safety.
For those unaware, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has also taken responsibility for the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.
