India’s first superhero, Shaktimaan, is returning to TV screens! Mukesh Khanna, who played this iconic role, recently shared the exciting news with fans. On November 10, the actor posted on social media, along with a teaser, making longtime fans of the show nostalgic.
In his Instagram post, Mukesh shared a picture of himself in the Shaktimaan costume showing the famous logo. He captioned it, “It’s Time For HIM to RETURN. Our First Indian SUPER TEACHER- SUPER HERO. YES! As Darkness And Evil prevails over Children of today… It’s time for him to return with a Message and a Teaching for today’s generation. Welcome Him. With both hands! The teaser, now on his YouTube channel, starts with a message: “As Darkness & Evil Prevails Over Children of Today, Bheeshm International Brings Back India’s First Super Teacher Super Hero.” It then shows Shaktimaan arriving at a school, singing a song about freedom fighters like Chandrasekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, and Subhash Chandra Bose, honoring their sacrifices for India’s freedom.

For those who may not know, Shaktimaan originally aired from 1997 to 2005 on DD National, running for 450 episodes and becoming a massive hit. The show featured Mukesh Khanna as Shaktimaan, along with Kitu Gidwani, Vaishnavi, Surendra Pal, and Tom Alter in other key roles.
