Chhavi Mittal is making a comeback to TV with her new show, Pati Patni Aur Baby, after taking a long break. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, she spoke about her role, working with her friend Karan V Grover, and the journey of returning to TV.
In Pati Patni Aur Baby, Chhavi plays Rohini, a working woman who is a bit short-tempered and likes things done her way. She runs her own small business and often micro-manages her husband without realizing it. She feels the chemistry between her character Rohini and her husband Rishi, played by Karan, will resonate with viewers since it reflects the ups and downs in many real-life marriages.
Chhavi also opened up about her healing journey after her breast cancer diagnosis, sharing that the emotional struggles were sometimes even harder than the physical ones. “I’ve been through phases, and I still go through them. I try to focus on how far I’ve come,” she said. After her surgery, she received many offers but chose this show because she’s not only returning as an actor but also as a producer.
She shared that stepping back from TV was a conscious choice. As an actor, she felt it was time to expand, so she started her online content company, SIT, where she now works as a writer and editor. She also manages her own podcast and two YouTube channels. Returning to TV as both an actor and a creator feels like a big achievement for her.
Chhavi enjoyed working with Karan V Grover again, who she says is not only a friend but also a very professional actor who adds depth to his character. She can’t imagine anyone else playing Rishi.
Pati Patni Aur Baby is a family show meant for everyone to watch together. It’s lighthearted with a mix of real-life drama and humor. The show follows two couples: Rohini and Rishi, along with Abhimanyu and Meera, and includes their playful house-help, Baby, played by Shubhangi Litoria. The show promises to deliver relatable stories about marriage and family life, all with a touch of comedy.
Pati Patni Aur Baby will premiere on November 18 and air daily at 5:30 PM on Colors TV.
