Meet the Actor Who Was a Banker Before Becoming a TV Star

Sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and Shivaji Satam’s story is a perfect example. He started his career as a bank employee, working as a cashier. But destiny had bigger plans! Shivaji went on to act in popular movies like Vaastav, Ghulam-e-Mustafa, Sooryavansham, and Nayak. Today, he is one of the most loved faces on Indian television.

Before stepping into acting, Shivaji had a stable government job. His life changed when he participated in a stage competition organized by the bank. During this event, he met Bal Dhuri, the actor famous for playing King Dasharatha in Ramayana. Bal Dhuri, also a veteran in Marathi theater, saw Shivaji’s talent and gave him his first break in the musical drama Sangeet Varad.

Shivaji made his TV debut in 1980 with the popular show Rishte-Naate and later appeared in his first film, Pestonjee (1988). Over time, he gained recognition for his roles in movies like Pukar, Garv: Pride and Honour, and Uttarayan.

However, Shivaji Satam is best known for his iconic role as ACP Pradyuman in C.I.D., one of the longest-running television shows in India. Fans of the show are in for a treat, as he is all set to return as ACP Pradyuman in the new season of C.I.D. after six years.
