Radhika Gupta on Mother’s Guilt: ‘I Cannot Be There for My Child Always’ | Exclusive Video

Radhika Gupta Talks About Mom Guilt: “I Can’t Always Be There for My Child”

Radhika Gupta, a successful businesswoman and one of the most humble judges on Shark Tank India 3, recently shared her thoughts about dealing with mom guilt. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla’s Behind the Success segment, Radhika opened up about balancing her life as an entrepreneur and a mother to her young son.

The Pressure of Mom Guilt

When asked about how mom guilt affects women, Radhika admitted it can be overwhelming. She explained:
“It’s crazy. I’ve been in many WhatsApp groups where this mom guilt is always there. Women do so much for themselves and others, but we often feel the most guilt. Maybe it’s because we are conditioned to believe we must live not just for ourselves but for others too.”

She highlighted how women naturally take on responsibilities, but the constant guilt is something society ingrains in them.

Advice From Her Own Mother

Radhika shared that when she became a mother, she decided not to let mom guilt take over her life. She had a candid conversation with her own mother, who gave her some comforting advice:
“No mother is a bad mother intentionally.”

This reminder helps her when she starts feeling guilty, especially when juggling work and motherhood.

Balancing Motherhood and Career

As the MD and CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, Radhika is no stranger to challenges. She explained that blaming oneself for not being perfect in every role is a never-ending trap. Instead, she focuses on finding balance:
“When I feel slightly guilty, I talk to my mother. I remind myself that I can’t always be there for my child or my office. But I try to make up for it in other ways.”
