Sunil Pal Kidnapping Case: Meerut Police Offers Reward for 5 Missing Suspects – Details Here
Comedian Sunil Pal’s kidnapping on December 2 shocked everyone. He was tricked into visiting Meerut under the pretense of attending an event and was later abducted. Held hostage for nearly 24 hours, he was freed after the kidnappers extorted Rs. 8 lakh as ransom.
To catch the culprits, the Meerut Police has now announced a cash reward for the five accused who are still missing.
Police Declare Rs. 25,000 Reward Per Suspect
On December 17, Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada announced a reward of Rs. 25,000 for information leading to the arrest of each of the five absconding suspects. The wanted individuals have been identified as:
- Lavi Pal (also known as Sushant or Himanshu)
- Akash (also known as Gola or Deependra)
- Shiva
- Ankit (also known as Pahadi)
- Shubham
Tada stated that police teams are conducting raids to locate and arrest the accused. Earlier, another suspect, Arjun Karnwal, was apprehended following a police encounter.
How the Incident Unfolded
After Sunil Pal’s abduction, his wife, Sarita, filed a zero FIR in Mumbai, which was later transferred to the Lal Kurti Police Station in Meerut. The local police launched a thorough investigation.
Sunil revealed that during his captivity, he contacted a friend to arrange the ransom money. Once the kidnappers received the payment, they gave him Rs. 20,000 to book a flight back to Mumbai.
Other Kidnapping Incidents
The case didn’t stop with Sunil Pal. Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan was also kidnapped in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district. Reports suggest that Khan was abducted from the Delhi-Meerut highway and tortured for 12 hours. The police further revealed that the gang had plans to kidnap veteran actor Shakti Kapoor by luring him with an event invitation.

Sunil Pal, best known for The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, has acted in popular Bollywood films like Phir Hera Pheri, Apna Sapna Money Money, and Bombay to Goa.
