Kaun Banega Crorepati 16: Amitabh Bachchan Talks About Bunking School and Sneaking Out at Night
On the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, Amitabh Bachchan opened up about his school days, sharing some light-hearted and relatable memories. The veteran actor admitted he wasn’t a great student and revealed that, just like the characters in the movie Mohabbatein, he too had bunked school in his younger days.
The show recently introduced an exciting twist called “India Challenger Week.” In this new format, the two fastest contestants from the Fastest Finger First round go head-to-head in a ‘Jaldi 5 Buzzer Round.’ The winner of this round starts their game directly from the 6th question, adding more thrill to the competition. Alongside this fresh twist, Amitabh’s nostalgic storytelling became a highlight of the episode.
One of the contestants, Jaspal Singh from Punjab, a science lab assistant by profession, made it to the hot seat. During the episode, Jaspal asked Amitabh an interesting question about his role in Mohabbatein. Referring to the actor’s portrayal of a strict principal who lived by the values of Parampara, Pratishtha, and Anushasan, Jaspal inquired if Big B would actually follow such strict principles in real life. He also cheekily asked, “Did you ever skip classes?”
Amitabh laughed and responded, “Where did you get the idea that I could be a principal?” He candidly admitted that he wasn’t good at studies and couldn’t imagine being in such a role. However, he did share a memory of his school principal, who he described as very strict.
The 82-year-old actor then recalled an amusing anecdote from his boarding school days in Nainital. He revealed that while students weren’t allowed to leave the campus, he would sneak out at night when everyone was asleep. “If I got caught, I would be punished,” he said with a smile.
Jaspal cleverly pointed out that Amitabh’s students in Mohabbatein did the same thing—sneaking out of the campus. To this, Amitabh humorously replied, “And they were punished too.”
This candid moment added a fun and personal touch to the show, reminding viewers of Big B’s charm and relatability.
