Bigg Boss 18’s Ravi Kishan Opens Up About Casting Couch Experience in His Youth
In a recent interview, Ravi Kishan shared his personal experience with the casting couch during his youth and gave advice on how to achieve success without taking shortcuts.
Ravi Kishan, who is currently seen occasionally on Bigg Boss 18 hosting fun interactions with contestants, recently spoke about the struggles he faced in the early years of his career. Known as a prominent face in the Bhojpuri film industry, Ravi has also worked in several Bollywood films. However, before finding success, he faced extreme poverty and was desperate for work.
In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Ravi was asked about the issue of men being victimized by sexual predators in the film industry. The actor, who moved to Mumbai from his village in Bihar as a teenager, shared that he faced many “attacks” during his youth while struggling to make a name in the industry. He said, “When you’re young, good-looking, and fit, but have no money, some people try to take advantage of you. This happens not just in films, but in many fields. They try their luck and hope it works out.”
Ravi opened up further, recalling, “I was lean, had long hair, and wore an earring. I faced many such attacks in my youth. I want to tell everyone that there are no shortcuts to success. Many people who tried shortcuts regretted it. Some fell into addiction or even ended their lives.”
Ravi explained that he stayed patient through his journey and didn’t take the easy route to success. He shared that he had seen stars like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn rise to stardom in the ’90s, but he chose to wait for his time.
Ravi was last seen in the successful film Laapataa Ladies, which was selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars. However, the film did not make it to the longlist in the Best International Feature category. Ravi Kishan also made appearances on Bigg Boss 18, hosting a special segment with the contestants.
