Actress Jheel Mehta Reflects on a Traumatic Scene from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
Jheel Mehta, best known for playing Sonu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, recently opened up about a difficult experience during her time on the show. While most of her early days on set were fun, one particular episode left her feeling deeply unsettled.
Fond Memories of Her First Scene
Jheel recalled her first scene on the show fondly. She shared, “The first scene was Tapu playing cricket, and I came to the balcony to say hi and cheer.” The pilot episode was shot in a society in Borivali, where the entire area was closed off for the shoot. She added that the cast spent the day playing cricket and enjoying themselves.
The Traumatizing Episode
However, not all memories were pleasant. Jheel revealed that an episode involving Tapu’s marriage deeply disturbed her. She said, “The episode where Tapu gets married was very traumatizing for me. I kept wondering why I was doing this serial, as it portrayed child marriage.”
Speaking with Siddhesh Lokare, she admitted that the episode made her question her life choices. “I don’t know what all I imagined in my head,” she said. However, once she watched the episode, she realized it was just a dream sequence.
Life After the Show
After her time on the Asit Modi-produced show, Jheel decided not to return to television. She shifted careers and became a successful makeup artist. She now co-owns a business with her mother and has built a new path outside of acting.
Personal Life
On December 28, 2024, Jheel tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Aditya Dube. The couple is now embarking on their journey together.
