Shark Tank India 4: Ritesh Agarwal Reunites with Former Employee; Shocks Vineeta Singh and Aman Gupta with a Surprising Revelation
The latest episode of Shark Tank India Season 4 was full of surprises as Ritesh Agarwal’s ex-employee, Paurav, appeared on the show to pitch his business idea. The pitch not only impressed the Sharks but also led to some unexpected revelations about Ritesh’s personality.
Paurav, along with co-founder Shamin, presented their startup Speed Kitchens. They described it as a “WeWork for cloud kitchens,” providing shared kitchen spaces to brands to simplify logistics and support growth. Their impressive client list includes big names like Haldiram’s, Chaayos, and Daryaganj.
The duo sought ₹2 crore for 3% equity, valuing their company at ₹66 crore. During the pitch, Paurav revealed he had previously worked at OYO, sparking curiosity among the Sharks. Vineeta Singh eagerly asked Ritesh if he remembered Paurav. Laughing, Ritesh took a moment to recall Paurav’s responsibilities at OYO, while Paurav shared, “I’ve seen him very closely.”
A Surprising Revelation
What really caught everyone’s attention was Paurav’s comment about experiencing Ritesh’s “various moods and tempers” during their time at OYO. Aman Gupta humorously remarked, “Kuch toh gadbad hai Daya” (Something is wrong), noticing Paurav’s hesitation. Paurav reassured everyone, saying, “I’ve seen his various moods, but there’s no issue.”
This left Vineeta Singh surprised. She said, “Hum toh maan hi nahi sakte” (I can’t believe this), referring to Ritesh’s usual calm and composed demeanor.
Paurav further revealed that after leaving OYO, he tried reaching out to Ritesh for funding but didn’t get a response. Ritesh, clearly happy to see his former employee, said, “I can’t tell you how happy I am to see you here. There can’t be a better ambassador for OYO than you.”
The Deal
Ritesh made a strong offer of ₹2 crore for 10% equity, joined by Azhar Iqubal. Meanwhile, Kunal Bahl also showed interest and offered ₹3 crore for 10%. After some negotiations, Paurav and Shamin accepted a deal with the Sharks for ₹2 crore in exchange for 6% equity.
