FUPRO is a brand dedicated to creating affordable, high-tech prosthetic products. While listening to their pitch, Shark Anupam Mittal opened up about a heartbreaking experience involving his cousin, making the moment emotional for everyone.
FUPRO’s Vision and Pitch
The founders explained that FUPRO has already transformed the lives of 15,000 people with their products. They have developed 20 unique prosthetic solutions, five of which are patented. They shared that their products are 50-80% cheaper than foreign brands and 10-15% more affordable than Indian competitors, all while maintaining top-notch quality.
During their pitch, Cyril highlighted how losing a body part impacts blood circulation, often leading to secondary health problems. This deeply resonated with Anupam Mittal, who then shared a personal story.
Anupam Mittal’s Heartbreaking Memory
Anupam revealed an incident where his cousin lost his hand and foot after falling under a train. He emotionally recalled, “I was carrying his foot in a bag, hoping it could be reattached. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible, and he had to get prosthetics. What you said about these issues is very real and personal to me.”
Anupam further expressed interest in staying connected with the FUPRO founders to explore ways to help his cousin through their innovative products.
The Investment Deal
The Sharks showed great interest in FUPRO’s potential. Kunal Bahl offered Rs 2 crore for 10% equity but with a condition regarding capitalization, which the founders did not accept. Aman Gupta offered Rs 60 lakh for 3% equity, while Ritesh Agarwal and Namita Thapar teamed up to propose Rs 60 lakh for 5% equity.
After discussions, Ritesh, Namita, and Aman came together to finalize the deal. They invested Rs 60 lakh for 4% equity, securing a partnership with FUPRO.
