Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, was spotted at Khar Police Station today (February 12) to record her statement after an FIR was filed against her. She landed in legal trouble after making an inappropriate remark on India’s Got Latent, which sparked major backlash. Legal action has been taken against her, along with Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, and others.
Apoorva Mukhija’s Controversial Comment
Apoorva was one of the panelists on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, where a contestant made a joke about vaginas. In response, Apoorva said, “Kabhi vagina dekhi hain maa se nikalne ke baad, la**e?”* (Have you ever seen a vagina after coming out of your mother?). This comment immediately caused outrage. In a viral video, Samay Raina can be seen clapping, while Ranveer Allahbadia bursts into laughter after hearing her words.
Apoorva Arrives at Police Station
Today, February 12, Apoorva arrived at Khar Police Station wearing a mask for the interrogation. Her appearance comes after intense backlash from viewers and legal action taken against the show’s creators and participants.
More Controversial Remarks from the Show
During the same episode, Samay Raina jokingly asked Apoorva how she was feeling. She replied, “Badhiya hu ekdam, taiyyar hu tumhare se marwane ke liye” (I’m good, I’m ready to get roasted by you). To this, Samay responded, “No, no, I have better taste.”
Later, Apoorva made another controversial remark about her preference in men. She said, “Pati Parmeshwar chahiye mujhe, batao kaha se milega. 6 ft 4 inch, aur neeche se minimum 6 inch.” (I need a husband, tell me where I can find one. 6 feet 4 inches tall, and at least 6 inches below). This statement also went viral and received strong criticism from the public.
Why This Controversy Started
The controversy initially began when Ranveer Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate question on India’s Got Latent. This shocked the other judges, including Samay Raina, comedian Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija. As the backlash grew, the episode was taken down from YouTube.
With legal proceedings underway, it remains to be seen what action will be taken against the show’s participants.
