Ranveer Allahbadia Controversy: Mumbai Police Summons Samay Raina Again Over ‘India’s Got Latent’ Case; He Asks for More Time
Comedian Samay Raina, who is currently on his U.S. and Canada tour, has been summoned again by the Mumbai Police in connection with the India’s Got Latent controversy.
Samay Raina Seeks More Time
The internet is buzzing with news about a controversy involving popular content creators like Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apurva Makhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Jasprit Sing. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has called Samay Raina for questioning again as part of an ongoing investigation into his YouTube show India’s Got Latent.
However, since Samay Raina is currently in the U.S., he has requested more time to respond. Officials have confirmed that he is expected to return by the third week of March. Apart from Samay, around 40 other people involved in filming India’s Got Latent have also received notices from the Cyber Cell.
YouTube Asked to Remove All Episodes
Authorities have also asked YouTube to take down all 18 episodes of India’s Got Latent. Although the controversial episode that sparked outrage was deleted within two days, officials are still working with YouTube to remove the remaining episodes.
Meanwhile, the Khar Police have recorded statements from at least 10 people, as the episodes were filmed at a studio in Khar in November 2024. So far, no arrests have been made, and further action will be taken after reviewing the statements and content.
Samay Raina Responds to the Controversy
On February 12, Samay Raina shared his first statement about the controversy. He assured that he would fully cooperate with the authorities and confirmed that he had already deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube.
Celebrities React to the Controversy
While many netizens have criticized the creators, some celebrities have come out in their support. Aly Goni and Munawar Faruqui have backed Samay Raina. Meanwhile, Rakhi Sawant and Uorfi Javed have urged the public to forgive Ranveer Allahbadia.
