Munawar Faruqui Supports Samay Raina Amid India’s Got Latent Controversy
Samay Raina recently issued a statement explaining his intentions behind starting India’s Got Latent and assured full cooperation in the ongoing investigation. His show has landed in legal trouble due to controversial remarks made on-air, leading to an FIR against several social media influencers and YouTubers involved. Authorities have also demanded the removal of the episode in question.
Now, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui has come forward in support of Samay. After Samay shared his statement on Instagram, Munawar posted a story backing him up. He wrote, “Samay (kissing emoji). Art is like a spring—the more you suppress it, the higher it rises. My G is going to come out so strong, you will see.”
Aly Goni Also Stands with Samay Raina
Not just Munawar, but actor Aly Goni also defended Samay. Reacting to the authorities’ demand to delete all episodes from YouTube, Aly wrote, “They forced Samay to delete all the episodes of Latent… not cool… That one episode should have been removed; that’s it. He worked hard to make this show successful. A few days ago, everyone was praising him, and now suddenly, they are against him. Kya yaar!”
What Led to the Controversy?
The controversy erupted when influencers like Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps), Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid), and Ashish Chanchlani made inappropriate comments while interacting with a contestant on India’s Got Latent.
The show had several well-known personalities as jury members, including Raftaar, Badshah, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Rakhi Sawant, Tony Kakkar, Tanmay Bhat, Bharti Singh, and Haarsh Limbachiyaa. Singer B Praak was also supposed to appear but later backed out.
