Ranveer Allahbadia Seeks Protection from Arrest in India’s Got Latent Controversy
Popular YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia is in legal trouble over his remarks on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. Several FIRs have been filed against him in different states, and now he has approached the Supreme Court for relief.
Why is Ranveer Allahbadia in Trouble?
India’s Got Latent has been making headlines for a controversial episode where YouTubers and comedians made objectionable remarks. Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, appeared as a guest on the show and allegedly made an inappropriate joke.
The controversy escalated when he asked a contestant an offensive question related to watching their parents in an intimate situation. This upset many viewers, leading to a huge backlash.
Ranveer Allahbadia Moves to Supreme Court for Protection
Facing multiple FIRs in different states, Ranveer Allahbadia has now approached the Supreme Court for legal protection. On February 14, his lawyer, Senior Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, presented the case before Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna.
Here’s what happened in court:
- Allahbadia’s lawyer requested urgent relief under Article 32 of the Constitution and asked the court to combine all the FIRs into one case.
- CJI Khanna acknowledged that a hearing date was already set, but he did not promise any immediate action.
- The lawyer expressed concern that Assam Police might arrest Allahbadia, but the Chief Justice refused to make a decision based on an oral request.
Samay Raina and Others Also Under Investigation
This controversy has also put comedian and India’s Got Latent host Samay Raina under legal scrutiny.
- At least two FIRs have been filed against Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina—one in Assam and another in Mumbai.
- The Mumbai Police have summoned both for questioning and have even visited Ranveer Allahbadia’s house for investigation.
- However, Samay Raina is currently on a tour in the United States and Canada and has requested an extension for his questioning.
More Complaints Filed
On February 10, a complaint was also lodged with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission against:
- Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps)
- Samay Raina
- Apoorva Mukhija
- Ashish Chanchlani
- Jasprit Singh
- The organizers of India’s Got Latent
The complaint accuses them of using abusive language on the show.

Ranveer Allahbadia is now waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision on his request for protection. Meanwhile, the Mumbai and Assam Police continue their investigation, and more updates are expected soon.
