“There Were Tears in My Eyes”: Nikki Tamboli Shares Why She Celebrated Holi After 3 Years on Celebrity MasterChef
Nikki Tamboli is a well-known name in the entertainment industry. After winning hearts in reality shows, she is now impressing everyone on Celebrity MasterChef. But despite her busy schedule, she decided to take a short break to celebrate Holi this year.
In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Nikki revealed that she had not celebrated Holi for three years because of her brother’s passing.
Why Nikki Tamboli Skipped Holi for 3 Years
Talking about her emotional journey, Nikki said:
“For the past three years, I haven’t played Holi like I used to because my brother is no longer with us. The festival just hasn’t felt the same without him.”
However, things changed for Nikki while she was on Celebrity MasterChef.
“During the show, something felt different. For the first time since my brother’s passing, I played Holi with my father. It was a very emotional moment— I had tears in my eyes, but at the same time, I felt connected to Holi again. Even now, I don’t let anyone put colors on me, but Holi will always have a special place in my heart.”

Her Favorite Holi Memories
Nikki called Holi a “festival of joy” and shared her favorite childhood memories of the festival.
“My best Holi memories are from childhood, celebrating with my brother. We would team up to throw colors and water balloons on everyone. Running around the neighborhood, playing with friends— those were the best days!”
She also remembered how the whole family would come together to celebrate, making Holi even more special.
“Our entire family would gather, and the day would be full of laughter and fun. Those carefree days, when Holi was all about togetherness, are something I will always cherish.”

Holi and Food: A Special Connection
The Bigg Boss 14 star also talked about the delicious food that made Holi extra special.
“As kids, Holi was never complete without homemade snacks. After playing with colors, my whole family would sit together to make vada pav, thandai, and many other festive treats.”
For Nikki, Holi was not just about eating food but also about making it together.
“It wasn’t just about enjoying the food— it was about the whole process. The kitchen would be filled with amazing smells, everyone would help, and there was so much excitement in sharing the food with neighbors. Even today, when I think of Holi, these flavors bring back the most beautiful memories.”
