Popular actress Erica Fernandes, known for her roles in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, recently shared a painful chapter from her past. In a recent interview, she revealed that watching Shaheer Sheikh and Kriti Sanon’s film ‘Do Patti’ brought back memories of an abusive relationship she had experienced.
Erica Fernandes on Her Past Trauma
Speaking to Shardul Pandit, Erica admitted that she has been single for a long time because she is still healing from past trauma. She shared that whenever she watches movies where a man physically harms a woman, it reminds her of what she went through.
She said,
“I have gone through a very violent relationship. It was physically abusive. It reached a point where there was physical abuse. But I didn’t want to speak about it back then.”
Why Erica Didn’t Go to the Police
When asked why she never sought legal help, Erica explained that being an actress means her personal life quickly becomes public news. She feared that if she reported it, people would start speculating and linking it to someone.
She further added,
“I wasn’t sure what would happen if I went to the police. Honestly, I don’t trust the judicial system that much.”
Her Ex-Partner Wanted Her to Quit Acting
Erica also revealed that her ex-boyfriend was a businessman, not an actor. He wanted her to leave acting and give up her career.
When asked why she hasn’t been in a relationship for so long, she said,
“This whole baggage, trauma, experiences, and trust issues… I’ve had heartbreak, and it has shaped me into the person I am today. A lot of things have changed for me. I’ve gone through hardships, ups and downs, but those experiences have made me stronger.”
Erica’s Journey in the Industry
On the work front, Erica has been a part of several hit TV shows, including Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay.
