Actress Avneet Kaur, who started working in the industry as a child, recently shared a difficult experience from her early career. She revealed that she faced verbal abuse from a director when she was just 12 years old.
Avneet Kaur Opens Up About Her Struggles
Avneet has been in the entertainment industry since childhood and has built an impressive career over the years. Despite her success, her journey was not always easy.
In a recent interview, she recalled a disturbing incident that happened when she was just eight years old. During dance rehearsals, she had an unsettling experience and later learned about inappropriate touch from her mother.
Later, when she was 11 or 12, she faced another shocking incident on set.
Humiliated by a Director on Set
Speaking to Hauterrfly, Avneet shared that a director gave her a monologue with difficult words to memorize. Since she was nervous, she fumbled a few times. Instead of encouraging her, the director humiliated her in front of everyone using a microphone.
- He told her she lacked talent and would never succeed in the industry.
- He even verbally abused her, making her feel small and confused.
- Since her parents were not allowed on set, she had no immediate support.
Recalling the painful moment, she said, “I was very confused because my parents were not allowed on set. I went to them and told them everything, and my self-confidence broke as an actor.”
Avneet’s Journey From Child Star to Leading Actress
For those who don’t know, Avneet debuted in 2012 with the TV show Meri Maa and later appeared in Tedhe Hain Par Tere Mere Hain. That same year, she became the youngest contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
She later gained massive popularity for her role in Aladdin—Naam Toh Suna Hoga. Now, she is set to star in Love in Vietnam alongside Shantanu Maheshwari, marking an exciting collaboration between Indian and Vietnamese entertainment industries.
