CID: Why Did Parth Samthaan First Say NO to Playing ACP Pradyuman? Here’s What He Said
CID is back in the spotlight after it was confirmed that the iconic character ACP Pradyuman will no longer be part of the show. Shivaji Satam, who played the role for years, has taken a break. Now, the makers have introduced a new character—ACP Anushman, played by Parth Samthaan. As the new lead, Parth will now be seen giving orders to Daya and Abhijeet.
Why Did Parth Reject the Role at First?
In a recent chat with Hindustan Times, Parth revealed that he had initially turned down the offer to be part of CID. He said,
“I first said no to the role of ACP Pradyuman because I couldn’t relate to it. But the makers asked me to think about it again.“
He shared that it felt strange and awkward to take on a role where senior actors like Dayanand Shetty and Aditya Srivastava would have to call him “sir” in the show. That made him uncomfortable at first, since they’ve been part of the series for so long.
His Return to TV After 5 Years
Parth is coming back to television after a long gap of five years. He said he was waiting for the right role, and didn’t want to repeat himself.
“I was offered a few scripts, but they were mostly romantic roles. When this show came my way, I felt it was a challenge worth taking.“
A Quick Look at Parth’s Journey
Parth became very popular with the youth show Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, and later played Anurag Basu in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. That was his last TV show before this big return.
In another interview with Pinkvilla, CID actor Hrishikesh Pandey confirmed that Parth has already started shooting scenes with Dayanand Shetty and Aditya Srivastava.

CID made its grand comeback on December 21, 2024. The show now stars Dayanand Shetty, Aditya Srivastava, Sparsh Khanchandani, Hrishikesh Pandey, and others in important roles.
