India’s Got Latent Controversy: Will Maharashtra Cyber Police Take Legal Action Against Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija?
Popular content creators Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija could be in legal trouble soon. According to reports, the Maharashtra Cyber Police might take action against them in connection with the India’s Got Latent controversy, which created a stir earlier this year.
Back in February 2025, the show faced backlash for allegedly promoting inappropriate and offensive content. Along with Ranveer and Apoorva, creators like Samay Raina and Ashish Chanchlani were also linked to the controversy.
As reported by India TV, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell had sent notices to all four creators, asking them to appear for questioning. While Samay and Ashish showed up, Ranveer and Apoorva reportedly didn’t respond.
Because of their silence, authorities are now thinking about taking legal action against them for not cooperating with the investigation.
Meanwhile, both Ranveer and Apoorva earlier said that they were getting threatening messages online.
On Tuesday, Apoorva posted on Instagram about how serious the situation was. She shared screenshots of disturbing messages she had received—many of them contained violent threats, including threats of s*xual assault and acid attacks. These messages were directed at her just for appearing on the show. In her post, she wrote, “and that’s not even 1%”, showing that this was just a small part of what she had faced.
For those who don’t know, this controversy started when Ranveer Allahbadia made a controversial comment in an episode of Samay Raina’s YouTube comedy show. The video quickly went viral and caused public outrage, leading to multiple complaints.
