EXCLUSIVE: Prabhas’ Action Film Spirit to Begin Shooting in October; Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga Asks Him to Do His Own Stunts
After the massive success of Animal, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is now working with superstar Prabhas on his next film, Spirit. This upcoming movie is an action-packed thriller centered around a police officer. The script has taken time, but the makers are now ready to begin filming in October 2025.
According to a source, the writing process took longer than expected because Spirit isn’t just a regular cop film. “With Vanga, you can always expect something fresh and different. He spent more than six months working on the story and screenplay. Now that everything is falling into place, the film is set to go on floors by September or October this year,” the source shared.
Spirit is being produced by Bhushan Kumar along with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Pranay Reddy Vanga.
Before starting Spirit, Prabhas is focusing on finishing two of his current projects – Raja Saab and Fauji. The source added, “Sandeep wants to film Spirit in a very specific way and has asked Prabhas to get into a leaner shape. He also wants Prabhas to perform most of the stunts himself. Prabhas is excited by the script and ready to dive into the role. He enjoys working with Sandeep because of his unique style.”
Casting for the film is still ongoing. The team is looking for actors from the US and Korea to join the international action thriller. Discussions are already happening, and final casting details should be confirmed in the next few months.
Spirit is expected to release in 2027. After finishing this project, Sandeep Reddy Vanga will start writing the sequel to Animal, titled Animal Park, which will once again star Ranbir Kapoor.
