Asit Modi Responds to Allegations Made by Former Cast Members of TMKOC

The creator of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), Asit Modi, has finally spoken out about the accusations made by former cast members. The show has been a major part of Indian television for more than 17 years. However, in 2023, it made news for the wrong reasons, with a few actors accusing the show of mistreatment and not paying them. Now, Asit Modi has addressed these claims.

In an interview with SCREEN, Asit shared that he has always stayed close to the actors and is open to talking if any problems arise. He also mentioned that he has always been honest and focused on the show’s success rather than personal gains. While such accusations upset him, he said he understands that these things happen in life.

Asit acknowledged that some actors who left the show have said negative things about him. However, he made it clear that he won’t respond to them. He praised the actors who left, saying they were important to the show’s success, and emphasized that the popularity of TMKOC was a team effort, even though he led it.

He compared the show to a train, saying that even if some parts of the train go off track, the journey must continue. He also said, “I feel bad, but I forgive them. If I hold a grudge, I won’t be happy, and I won’t be able to make people laugh.”

Asit also spoke about the success of TMKOC, describing it as a team effort. He mentioned that he ensures everyone on the team is treated well and that they all work together in unity and sincerity to keep the production running smoothly.

As for the return of Dayaben, the popular character played by Disha Vakani, Asit shared that the show has continued to be successful, but Dayaben’s absence has been noticed. He revealed that they are trying to bring her back but also mentioned that Disha has personal commitments. He added that he has a few potential replacements in mind, but the team remains hopeful that Disha will return soon.
