In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, actor Dino Morea opened up about a shocking moment in his career—he was replaced in a movie just 10 days before shooting began, and he didn’t even know about it until he saw it in the newspaper.

Dino spoke honestly about his personal and professional life. He made it clear that his relationships never influenced his work decisions. When asked if a breakup ever affected the movies he chose, Dino said no. He explained that he always picked films based on their box office potential, not personal matters.

The Raaz actor then shared a painful experience. He had signed a two-film deal with a big-name director and producer. Everything was set, and he was supposed to start shooting in just 10 days. But out of nowhere, he read in the newspaper that someone else had been cast in the role.

At that time, he said, contracts weren’t always taken seriously, and verbal agreements didn’t have much value. Even his own managers told him to move on instead of starting a fight with powerful people in the industry.

Though this incident didn’t completely shake his career—since he had other offers—Dino admitted it felt weird that such a respected director replaced him without even informing him.

Dino also shared that he never confronted the director or producer, and they never reached out to him either. He said things like this happen not just in films, but also in corporate companies, where deals are often broken at the last minute.

When asked if he kept in touch with the actors involved in the project, Dino was quick to say the actors weren’t at fault—the decision was made by the filmmakers. Still, after that, he never spoke to them again.

He also revealed a second similar incident. He was set to act in a film from a major production house, but the role was later given to someone who had connections in the industry.

Despite all this, Dino stayed positive. He said that such things are a part of the industry, and the best way to deal with them is to keep moving forward and come back stronger.
