Priyanka Chopra’s Mom Reveals Dad’s Reaction to Botched Nose Surgery

EXCLUSIVE: Priyanka Chopra’s mom Madhu shares how her husband reacted to Priyanka’s botched nose surgery: ‘She won Miss World with that same face’

In the early 2000s, Priyanka Chopra had nose surgery to remove a nasal polyp. But the surgery didn’t go as planned and led to unexpected results. In a chat with Pinkvilla, Priyanka’s mom, Madhu Chopra, talked about how the situation affected Priyanka and how her father reacted with calm and support.

Madhu shared that Priyanka was really upset after the surgery. “I couldn’t really counsel her much,” she said, “but her dad told her, ‘There’s nothing we can’t fix. Don’t worry, this is just a small thing.’”

She continued, “She won Miss World with that same face. It was just an accident — something that could have happened with any doctor. It was a mishap, but thankfully, it was something we could correct.”

Madhu added, “Of course, she was heartbroken. She had gone in for something simple, and came back looking very different. She kept saying, ‘This doesn’t feel like me.’ But her father stayed calm and told her not to worry — it could be fixed.”

In her 2021 memoir Unfinished, Priyanka herself talked about this tough time. She shared how the botched surgery had shattered her confidence and made her doubt herself. On top of that, some people in the film industry told her she needed to change her looks to succeed.

She recalled how one filmmaker picked apart her appearance and suggested several cosmetic surgeries — from changing her jawline to enhancing her body. Even her then-manager agreed. But Priyanka stood her ground, let go of that manager, and chose to stay true to herself.

On the work front, Priyanka is now working on an exciting project with director SS Rajamouli, starring alongside Mahesh Babu in a film titled SSMB29. It’s expected to be a grand two-part movie. Filming will continue until 2026.

The first part is expected to release in 2027, with the second part coming out in 2029. Recently, a leaked photo from the Hyderabad set went viral, showing grand sets that look like the temples and ghats of Varanasi.
