Bandish Bandits Actress Aaliyah Qureishi Shares Big Update on Season 3 – And It Might Disappoint Fans
Fans of the hit musical drama Bandish Bandits might be in for some disappointing news. Actress Aaliyah Qureishi, who played the role of Ananya, recently gave a major update about Season 3, and it’s not what viewers were hoping to hear.
Is Season 3 Happening?
In a chat with News18, Aaliyah revealed,
“Honestly, I don’t think there’s going to be a Season 3.”
She added that during the filming of Season 2, the show’s creator Anand Sir had made it clear that the second season would be the final chapter.
“He said he had already told everything he wanted to say through these characters,” she shared.
Why the Show Might Not Return
While some parts of the story were left open, Aaliyah said this was done on purpose. The show wanted to reflect real life, where not every story ends perfectly and not all relationships get closure.
She explained that Bandish Bandits was not just a romantic drama—it was about music, emotions, and the struggles of being an artist. The makers didn’t want it to follow the usual path of romantic comedies.
Aaliyah on Her Character Ananya
Aaliyah shared how much the role of Ananya meant to her. Playing the character helped her grow as a person.
“I learned that there is strength in being soft and that staying true to yourself takes courage—even when life hurts,” she said.
She also mentioned that if there’s ever a Season 3, she would love to explore Ananya’s growth as an artist and how she finds peace—with or without romance. But she also believes that some stories are better left to end naturally, rather than being stretched too far.
“If this is the end of Ananya’s story, I’m okay with that. But if it’s not, I’m ready to meet her again,” she said warmly.
About the Show
Bandish Bandits became a fan favorite during the pandemic for its mix of classical music and modern storytelling. The long-awaited Season 2 premiered on December 13, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video.
The show features a talented cast including Ritwik Bhowmik, Shreya Chaudhry, Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Divya Dutta, Rohan Gurbaxani, Aaliyah Qureshi, and Saurabh Nayyar.
While fans will surely miss the soulful journey of these characters, Aaliyah’s heartfelt words offer a sense of closure—and a small hope that one day, they might return.
