EXCLUSIVE: Aamir Khan Discussed 10 Different Scripts Before Finalizing Rajkumar Hirani’s Next; PK 2 Also Being Considered
Aamir Khan, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, has given us many hit films over the years—like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Lagaan, 3 Idiots, PK, and Dangal. Right now, he’s preparing for the release of Sitaare Zameen Par on June 20. After that, he’ll start working on a new film about the life of Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema, which will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
Aamir Was Involved in 10 Scripts Before Making His Decision
According to sources, before saying yes to the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic, Aamir was actively involved in developing about 10 different film ideas. He worked closely with various filmmakers to explore different stories. These included two films with Rajkumar Santoshi (Char Din Ki Zindagi and Andaz Apna Apna 2), a biopic on lawyer Ujjwal Nikam with producer Dinesh Vijan, a movie on singer Kishore Kumar with director Anurag Basu, and another film with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
He even had talks about a biopic on music producer Gulshan Kumar with director Tushar Hiranandani and producer Bhushan Kumar.
“Aamir is very creative and likes to be deeply involved in the development of films,” the source said. “He attended many meetings and gave his input to make sure the content is strong. While all these projects have potential, right now, he is fully focused on the Dadasaheb Phalke film.”
PK 2 Might Happen, With Ranbir Kapoor Joining
Another exciting update is that Aamir, Rajkumar Hirani, and writer Abhijat Joshi have come up with an idea for PK 2. The sequel may feature both Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, continuing the story in a natural way.
“There is a solid idea for PK 2 that all three—Hirani, Abhijat, and Aamir—really like,” the source shared. “They plan to work on it after finishing the Dadasaheb Phalke film. Ranbir is aware of the concept and is interested in playing the alien character.”
A Superhero Film in 2027?
In addition to everything else, Aamir is also in advanced talks with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for a superhero movie. If all goes well, that film is expected to begin production in 2027.
