AICWA Boycotts India’s Got Latent Over Ranveer Allahbadia’s Remark

AICWA Boycotts Samay Raina’s Show India’s Got Latent, Demands Total Ban After Ranveer Allahbadia’s Remark

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has announced a boycott of Samay Raina’s YouTube show India’s Got Latent after Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remark sparked massive outrage. The association is also demanding a complete ban on the show.

Why Is AICWA Taking Action?

The controversy began when Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, made an offensive remark about parents, which many people found highly inappropriate. The statement led to a public backlash, with many calling for stricter content regulations.

Now, AICWA has officially joined the protest, following similar concerns raised by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

AICWA’s Official Statement

AICWA released a statement on their official Twitter (now X) account, strongly criticizing the viral episode. The association demanded that the episode featuring Ranveer Allahbadia’s comment be removed immediately and also called for a complete ban on India’s Got Latent.

  • The statement read:
“The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) vehemently condemns the reprehensible and offensive remarks made on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina.”
  • Further, AICWA added:
“In a recent episode, Ranveer Allahbadia made vile and disrespectful statements that go against Indian societal and family values. Such disgraceful content is completely unacceptable and threatens the moral fabric of our society.”

Boycott of India’s Got Latent

AICWA made it clear that they will not support “despicable shows” like India’s Got Latent. The association urged actors, filmmakers, directors, and technicians to cut all ties with the people involved in the show, including host Samay Raina and guest Ranveer Allahbadia.

“We call upon all members of the film industry to immediately stop any collaboration with these individuals. They will receive no support from the Indian film industry from now on,” the statement declared.

Demands for a Ban

AICWA has listed strict demands, including:

  1. A total and immediate ban on India’s Got Latent
  2. The removal of the controversial episode from YouTube
  3. Legal action against the creators and participants of the show

The association also appealed to the Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, urging him to take strong action against those responsible for the content.

“AICWA firmly declares that there is zero tolerance for unethical and disgraceful content within the Indian film industry,” the statement concluded.

Government’s Response

On February 10, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the controversy, stating that legal action will be taken against Ranveer Allahbadia.

With AICWA, NHRC, and political leaders involved, the controversy around India’s Got Latent continues to escalate.
