EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Aishwarya Sharma Reveals Her Wedding Lehenga Was Inspired by Deepika Padukone’s Movies
In an exclusive chat, Bigg Boss 17 star Aishwarya Sharma shared details about her wedding lehenga. She revealed that her bridal outfit was inspired by Deepika Padukone’s looks in the films Ram Leela and Padmavat.
Aishwarya Sharma and Neil Bhatt are one of the most admired celebrity couples. Even after three years of marriage, they continue to set couple goals. Before their wedding anniversary, Aishwarya sat down with Pinkvilla to talk about her wedding lehenga and surprised everyone with an interesting detail about the design.
She explained that she wanted something different from the usual heavy bridal lehengas that are currently in fashion. She had a clear image of what she wanted her outfit to look like.
Aishwarya shared, “I wanted something more traditional because I am from Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, and my husband is from Gujarat. My roots are from Rajasthan, so I wanted a mix of these traditions for my outfit.”
The actress further explained the details of her lehenga, saying that it combined styles from Gujarat’s Panetar, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan’s Bandhej. “I can say it’s inspired by Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films, like Ram Leela and Padmavat, where we see flared outfits,” Aishwarya said.
She also did some research on how lehengas were worn in earlier times, noting that they often had multiple layers of flare. “Women in Madhya Pradesh’s villages wear a lehenga called lugda, which is very flary, and I wanted something like that,” she added. “I thought a lot about this design.”
Aishwarya Sharma and Neil Bhatt are famous for their roles as DCP Virat Chavan and Pakhi in the popular TV show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. They met on the show and later got married. The show became a hit, making them well-known in the industry. Last year, they were also seen as participants in Bigg Boss 17.
