Akshay Kumar Reminds Suniel Shetty of a Special Person — Here’s Why He Finds It ‘Scary’

Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar have given fans many hit films like Hera Pheri, Mohra, and Dhadkan. Their on-screen chemistry and off-screen friendship are still loved by fans. But recently, Suniel shared a deeper, emotional reason behind their strong bond.
In a chat with Radio Nasha, Suniel revealed that Akshay reminds him of someone very close to his heart — his late cousin, Ullaas. This connection, he said, is both touching and a little “scary.”
Suniel said he met Akshay for the first time shortly after losing Ullaas in a car accident. At that moment, he immediately noticed how much Akshay resembled his cousin — from his clean-shaven look to his body language.
He shared,
“Ullaas was the first person who sent my photos to modeling agencies, and that got me my first modeling job. When I saw Akshay, I felt like I was seeing Ullaas again.”
Suniel even told Akshay,
“It’s scary to work with you every day because every time I see you, I miss him.”
That connection stayed with him. Still, he shared how Akshay helped lighten the mood during tough work nights.
“No one is more fun-loving than Akshay,” Suniel said with a smile.
Fans can soon see the duo on screen again in Welcome to the Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan and set to release in 2025. According to producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah, both Akshay and Suniel have grand introductory scenes in the film.
After that, the iconic pair will return with Paresh Rawal in Hera Pheri 3, directed by Priyadarshan. As per Pinkvilla, the film is expected to hit theaters in 2026.
