Alisha Parveen Talks About Her Replacement in Anupamaa: “I Didn’t Quit, I Was Replaced”
Alisha Parveen, who played the character Rahi on Rupali Ganguly’s show Anupamaa, was unexpectedly replaced, and she has shared her feelings about it in a new video.
Earlier, there were rumors that Alisha had quit the show, but she later clarified that she was actually replaced without any prior notice. Alisha confirmed once again that she did not leave on her own but was replaced.
On her Instagram account, Alisha posted a video showing clips of her and Shivam Khajuria from Anupamaa. She shared a heartfelt message, saying how difficult it was for her to be let go from the show. In her caption, she thanked her fans for their love and support, even during this tough time.
Alisha wrote in her post, “I didn’t quit, I was replaced. This was so hard for me! When you give so much love, power, and happiness to your character, and then you are replaced overnight without knowing why, it feels like heartbreak. But I am smiling because of all your support and love! Always your Raahi! Thank you so much for everything. #Pradhya #Anupama.”
Fans quickly flooded her comments section, sending their support. One fan wrote, “More power to you,” while another said, “You will always be our Raahi,” and many others shared kind words and good wishes.
For those who don’t know, Adrija Roy has replaced Alisha Parveen in Anupamaa and will now play opposite Shivam Khajuria. The announcement of Adrija joining the show was made on December 24.
Alisha was cast as Rahi (also known as Aadhya) in Anupamaa in October 2024, right after the show took a 15-year leap. Her exit just two months later came as a surprise to many.
Currently, Anupamaa stars Rupali Ganguly, Spreha Chatterjee, Shivam Khajuria, Alpana Buch, and others in key roles.
