Aman Gupta’s Savage Comment to Anupam Mittal on Shark Tank India 4: Here’s Why

Shark Tank India 4: Aman Gupta Teases Anupam Mittal After Pickleball Match—Find Out Why!

The latest episode of Shark Tank India 4 was not just about business—it also had a fun sports challenge! The episode featured a friendly Pickleball match between the Sharks, which led to some playful teasing between Aman Gupta and Anupam Mittal.

A Unique Business Pitch

Entrepreneurs Hemant and Yogesh Chauhan, co-founders of Goodland Pickleball, presented their startup to the Sharks. Their company is focused on Pickleball, a fast-growing sport that combines badminton, table tennis, and lawn tennis. In the past year alone, over 500 new courts have been built in India, showing how quickly the sport is gaining popularity.

To make their pitch more interesting, the founders challenged the Sharks to a Pickleball match!

The Match: Mumbai vs. Brooklyn

  • Team Mumbai: Anupam Mittal & Yogesh
  • Team Brooklyn: Aman Gupta & Hemant

The match was exciting, but in the end, Team Brooklyn won by 3 points. After the victory, Aman teased Anupam, saying:

“Better luck next time, you played badly!”

Goodland Pickleball’s Business Model

During the pitch, Aman revealed that he is a big fan of Paddle, a sport similar to Pickleball. The founders explained that Goodland offers everything a Pickleball enthusiast needs—from building courts and providing equipment to running exclusive clubs.

Here’s a quick look at their pricing model:

  • Cost to build a Pickleball court in India: ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh
  • Beginner paddles: ₹2,500
  • Club memberships: ₹5,000 per month

Revenue & Investment Offer

The company had made ₹1.9 crores in revenue over 9 months, with:

  • ₹1.2 crores coming from their U.S. operations
  • ₹70 lakhs from India

While the Sharks were impressed, some felt the business model lacked clarity. Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal, Ritesh Agarwal, and Kunal Bahl decided not to invest.

Aman Gupta Seals the Deal

Aman, however, saw potential in the startup. He made an offer:

  • ₹80 lakhs for 5% equity, plus 1% royalty until investment is recovered

After negotiations, the final deal was:

  • ₹80 lakhs for 6% equity
  • 0.5% royalty

With the deal sealed, Goodland Pickleball is now set to grow with Aman’s backing. This episode of Shark Tank India 4 was a mix of business, sports, and fun, making it a treat for viewers!
