Amanda Seyfried Supports Mean Girls Co-Star Lindsay Lohan After Her Acting Comeback: “She Has a Charm”
Amanda Seyfried is cheering for her Mean Girls co-star, Lindsay Lohan, as she returns to acting. The two played memorable roles in the 2000s teen hit, with Amanda as Karen Smith and Lindsay as Cady Heron. While Amanda continued to act in many big films like Mamma Mia, Lindsay faced some personal struggles and took a break from acting.
But now, Lindsay is back! She made her return with the 2022 holiday movie Falling for Christmas. Amanda couldn’t be happier and showed her support in a recent chat with E! News.
“She has something special,” Amanda said. “She has charm and a beautiful smile. You can’t help but root for her.”
Reunion with Lindsay and Lacey Chabert
Amanda also talked about how fun it was to reunite with Lindsay and their other Mean Girls co-star, Lacey Chabert, for a 2023 Walmart commercial. They recreated their characters in a parody ad, which quickly went viral.
“It felt like we picked up right where we left off,” Amanda said. She described the shoot as “crazy” and “fun.”
Lindsay’s Next Big Movie: Freakier Friday
Next up for Lindsay is the sequel to Freaky Friday, where she’ll return as Anna Coleman, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess. Amanda said she’s very excited to watch the movie.
The new movie, Freakier Friday, takes place 22 years after the original, where Anna and Tess famously switched bodies. This time, there’s another twist — the switch involves more people.
According to the official story, “Anna now has a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As the two families try to blend, Tess and Anna realize that the body-swap magic might happen again.”
Amanda Seyfried’s Current Work
As for Amanda, she’s currently starring in the crime drama Long Bright River on Peacock. She plays a local police officer working on a serious case. In a chat with Deadline, Amanda said she never imagined herself doing such a serious role because she’s always been in comedies.
