Anupamaa Producer Rajan Shahi Blames Star Rupali Ganguly for Cast Issues

“She is blamed for everything”: Anupamaa Producer Rajan Shahi on Allegations Against Rupali Ganguly by Former Cast Members

The hit TV show Anupamaa has become one of the most talked-about shows on Indian television. But along with its success, it has also faced many controversies—especially about cast members leaving the show. Some reports claimed that lead actress Rupali Ganguly didn’t get along with actors who exited the show. Now, Anupamaa producer Rajan Shahi has spoken about these rumors.

Rajan Shahi Defends Rupali Ganguly

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Rajan was asked whether Rupali Ganguly was the reason behind the issues with cast members. He replied with sarcasm, saying:

“She is responsible for everything—maybe even for the world’s economic and social problems.”

He explained that Rupali is often an easy target because she’s famous. “That’s the price of fame,” he said. He also called her one of the biggest stars on Indian TV since Smriti Irani, and added that many people use her name to get attention.

“No One is Perfect”

Rajan also said that nobody is perfect in the TV industry. Every person has both good and bad sides. He shared that when you work on a daily soap, there are always moments of both love and disagreements.

What Happened with Paras Kalnawat?

Paras Kalnawat, who played Samar in the show, left suddenly and had made some indirect comments that working with Rupali was difficult. When asked about this, Rajan said:

“A lot has happened since then. He’s just a kid.”

He also said that the entertainment world is such that friends can become enemies and enemies can become friends over time. He even joked that Paras and Rupali might become friends again in a few years.

Did Gaurav Khanna Leave Because of a Fight?

Recently, Gaurav Khanna’s character Anuj Kapadia was suddenly written out of the show. This sparked rumors that he, too, had a problem with Rupali. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Gaurav cleared the air. He said that neither he nor anyone else in his role would quit the show mid-way just because of personal issues.
