Anupamaa Star Rupali Ganguly Pays Tribute to Her Father Anil Ganguly on His Birth Anniversary
On January 26, Rupali Ganguly, known for her incredible work in Anupamaa, remembered her late father and renowned filmmaker Anil Ganguly on his birth anniversary. She shared an emotional tribute on social media, reflecting on his struggles and the life lessons he left behind.
Rupali posted a heartfelt fan-made video on her Instagram. The video featured pictures of her father and clips of Rupali speaking about him in interviews. In her caption, she wrote:
“Hum yahan paise kamane ke liye nahi karm kamane aaye hai” (We are here not to earn money but to earn good deeds).
She added, “My Hero… My Guru… My Pappa… Not a day goes by when we don’t get signs that you are watching over us. Every good that happens is a result of your life lessons and blessings. Thank you for being the father who didn’t cushion us but instead pushed us to break norms, struggle, and realize our potential. Every life, we want you as our father because there’s no love like yours. Happy Birthday, Pappa. Proud to be your child.”

The emotional post also caught the attention of Anupamaa producer Rajan Shahi. He remembered Anil Ganguly in the comments, writing, “Anil sir, his films like Tapasya and Shaheb… he was and will always be my inspiration. Anupamaa has the same texture as his films. Gratitude to Anil sir.”
In the video, a clip from Rupali’s interview with Pinkvilla was also included, where she spoke about her father’s struggles. She shared how Anil Ganguly ran away from Kolkata to pursue his dreams, lived on the footpath in Mumbai, and worked hard to make a name for himself.
